MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) has adopted biometrics technology, effectively raising the bar in its crime prevention and detection. After an evaluation of international crime detection technologies in the market, the PNP has adopted NEC's Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), which is acknowledged as one of the world's most efficient among the category of computerized solutions.

December 7 to 10, Cebu City, Philippines— NEC Philippines joined top corporations in the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit on December 7-10 in Cebu City, Philippines.
In support of the goal to push the ASEAN region towards global competitiveness, NEC Philippines participated as an exhibitor. Some of the top-of-the-line products & solutions showcased were Univerge, Biometrics, Servers, Qmaster, Retail Solution and PCs. Guests to the booth were welcomed with a video display of NEC's technological innovations.
This year's summit gathered different delegates across the ASEAN region.
