New NEC Compact Touch Screen POS Terminal TwinPOS3500 G1 for the Food and Beverage Market

Philippines, February 16, 2009 – NEC Corporation has completed the development of a new compact touch screen POS terminal aimed at the Food and Beverage industry. The corporation releases the TWINPOS3500G1 in the Philippines through their Philippine subsidiary, NEC Philippines.

NEC boasts of a long history of achievements in the development, construction and the management of systems for the retail and the food and beverage industries.

The space saving design of new NEC TWINPOS3500G1 enables the terminal to be installed in small service areas since it occupies 45% the space of conventional POS terminals.

Other features include a touch-panel screen and flash memory that delivers a fan-less and keyboard less unit. The new hardware is less susceptible to breakdowns and incorporates energy saving functions, making it friendlier to the environment. The metal frame structure enables it to endure a greater level of external pressure. The unit is also equipped with application software for the retail and restaurant industries.

There are four different models to choose from in addition to the basic configuration with operator screen and flash disk memory. The choices include models with customer display and built-in hard disk drive.

The new POS terminal offers expanded utility and can be used as a wall-mounted POS terminal or input station.

NEC Philippines intends to position and market the new TWINPOS3500G1 as a leading product to make the food and beverage work more efficiently and for their business expansions. “The launch of this new product is in line with NEC Philippines’ goal to become more accessible and be able to penetrate the Philippine market through its products and services. NEC recognizes that amidst the difficulties in the economy these days, the food and beverage industry continues to flourish,” stressed by NEC Philippines executive Vice President Leonardo Santos. He goes on to say, “With this in mind, NEC believes that the TWINPOS3500G1 is cost-effective and can provide exemplary services to make these businesses become more efficient and be capable for expansion.”
