NEC Solutions Asia Pacific announces strategic partnership with ABeam Consulting and Pointsec Mobile Technologies as it expands its regional IT Managed Services Outsourcing business, with Singapore as regional hub.
Partnership focused on offering comprehensive solutions and information security services for Southeast Asia region
SINGAPORE, 6 JULY 2005 - NEC Solutions Asia Pacific Pte Ltd ("NECSAP"), a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC Corporation ("NEC"), will embark on aggressive expansion of its regional IT managed services outsourcing business with the establishment of the "NEC Managed Services & Outsourcing Centre" (MSOC) in Singapore as its Southeast Asia hub. NECSAP also announced its strategic partnership with leading independent management and IT consulting firm ABeam Consulting Pte Ltd ("ABeam"), and global leading provider of information security solutions for computing devices, Pointsec Mobile Technologies Pty Ltd ("Pointsec"), which focuses on offering comprehensive solutions and information security services to customers in Southeast Asia.

NECSAPs alliance with ABeam follows NEC Corporations strategic capital alliance with ABeam Consulting Ltd announced in November 2004. NECSAP provides IT solutions and systems integration, business process outsourcing, project management and maintenance of large turnkey projects and integrated communication solutions for enterprises. The company was one of the few players capable of delivering the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) as early as 1999.

Today, the NEC Managed Services & Outsourcing Centre handles projects based on its established know-how, a combination of local development and NEC Corporations expertise, in the form of service tower models including Desktop & Helpdesk Support, Management and Infrastructure Support.

Hence, NECSAPs key strengths complement ABeams strategic consulting experiences which include management/business strategy, business process, organisation, IT and outsourcing, and highly specialised know-how derived from working with over 500 companies primarily in Asia.

Under the agreement with Pointsec, NECSAP will act as reseller and marketer of Pointsecs software products and services in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and The Philippines. Pointsec enables large organisations to take full advantage of todays mobile environment without compromising information security by protecting user credentials and critical data stored on their PCs and mobile computing devices from intrusion and data theft. Pointsec has garnered the Gartner Groups "Leader" position for mobile data protection three years running.
